Diana Buckley Gallery | Identity 2014
This identity for a former pop-up art gallery in NYC, is built around the very concept of curating: to pull together, sift through and collect for presentation. The logo –which was designed to have a sculptural quality– is sliced horizontally into eight pieces that can slide apart and pull back together, creating a graphic device that tells a story about the curatorial process.
There are no limits to how outstretched or contracted the graphic device should be, as long as it fits within the dimensions of a given media. With a flexible device like this, a modernist logo, and a fluorescent purple pantone, this identity is well equipped to appeal to commercial art buyers as well as collectors, and regular art show attendees.
